Ward Panel Meeting update |
||
|
This evening, community members attended this quarter's Ward Panel Meeting, which proved to be both productive and constructive. Alongside updates from Neighbourhood Watch, the Chair's report, the ShopWatch scheme, and discussions regarding various local concerns, members reviewed and agreed the local policing priorities for the coming quarter. The current ward priorities will remain unchanged. Anti-Social Behaviour will continue to be a focus due to upcoming seasonal events such as Halloween and Bonfire Night, which historically bring an increase in related incidents. Vehicle-related crime will also remain a priority as investigations continue following recent cross-force operations, during which a number of suspects have been arrested. Your local policing team continues to carry out targeted patrols and gather intelligence to support ongoing enquiries and prevent further offences. Finally, shoplifting remains a priority following a recent increase in reported incidents. Positive action by ward officers has resulted in several arrests, and work continues with local businesses to address this issue and support retailers within the community. Crime FiguresBelow are this quarter's crime figures, compared with the same period last year. Overall, there has been an increase of five recorded offences compared to the previous year. The most notable rise has been in theft offences, which is partly attributable to the proactive work undertaken by local officers in partnership with local retailers to improve reporting and intelligence gathering. CCTV AppealWe would also like to thank those who responded to our recent CCTV appeal relating to the theft of motor vehicles. The information and footage provided have generated valuable intelligence and will greatly assist ongoing police enquiries. Community EngagementWe are always keen to reach more members of our community. If you are already signed up to receive our updates, we would be grateful if you could encourage friends, family, and neighbours to join. Increased community engagement helps us share important information, gather intelligence, and work together to keep our neighbourhoods safe.
